RIDER DEVELOPMENT

Horse Council BC works to help in the Development of riders from those beginning our sport to riders competing at all levels. Grassroots development is the basis of the HCBC mandate; Equine Canada provides further development opportunities for those athletes competing at an elite level.

HCBC is not discipline specific and works to support all types of riding and use and enjoyment of our equines, be it recreational, driving, competitive, trail riding or anything in between.

HCBC actively administrates the following Rider Development Programs:

P’tit Trot Western Riding Program (for children from 5-10)
Equine Canada English and Western Rider Programs
High School Credits for Rider Programs

New for 2011

High School Achievement Recognition Program

This program has been developed to reward High School students who participate in Equestrian Sports outside of School in a meaningful manner. Badges and patches are awarded to students who complete the requirements. These rewards promote and reward physical activity outside of school, participation in competition, volunteerism and academic excellence.
