What:

2-night workshop:

  • First night: Education on concussion, including a review of the short- and long-term effects of single and multiple concussions
  • Second night: Strategies that  assist in the management of persistent post-concussive symptoms
  • Question and answer period included in both nights

Speakers:

Tony Robertson

Tony is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Vancouver Island University and an Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Psychology and Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Victoria. He brings more than 30 years of experience developing and applying neuropsychology and neurophysiological procedures with people with traumatic brain injury.

Ashleigh Enwood

Ashleigh is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, with training through the Brain Injury Association of America as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. She is the Director of Care for Bill’s Place Support Services. Ashleigh brings 6 years of experience in working directly with families, multidisciplinary teams, and individuals with brain injuries ranging from mild to severe traumatic brain injury.

Jamie Dunnett

Jamie worked a physical therapist providing rehabilitation for clients with brain injuries for over 10 years.  He completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2015 and now teaches weekend concussion management courses to health care professionals.

Kira Heaton

Kira completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at Queen’s University in 2013 and since has been working in the community as an Occupational Therapist in Northern Vancouver Island. With a focus on Concussion Care, she has a passion for providing education and support to colleagues, clients and community members about best practice and up to date research.
