Education

The External Credentials Program (ECP), through the Ministry of Education, gives students in grade 10, 11 and 12 the opportunity to earn graduation credits for sport learning through approved industrial and occupational courses. Students who have been certified in either the English or Western Rider Preparation Programs are eligible to receive graduation credits.

HCBC offers online courses written by industry professionals in a convenient Power Point format. There are no tests, just easy-to-follow informative courses with topics that are most pertinent to our members. HCBC members receive access to free courses, including Equine Abuse, and discounts to courses with a  minimal fee, like Nutrition 101.

HCBC produces an extensive list of educational brochures for personal use. These brochures are distributed in our office, at events, and may be downloaded on the HCBC website. Brochure topics include Biosecurity, Equestrian Helmet Fact Sheet, Humane Handling of Horses and Parents Checklist for Coaches.
