Please be advised that the following sections of the Equestrian Canada (EC) Rules have been amended through the Extraordinary Rule Amendment (ERA) process, effective immediately:

Noteworthy updates and changes are outlined below.

SECTION A: GENERAL REGULATIONS

Under A603 Event-Specific Information, at a competition (event) holding concurrent Equestrian Canada and FEI sanctioned classes/divisions; a horse that is presented to and not accepted at the First FEI Horse Inspection (or re-inspection), may not compete in Equestrian Canada classes/divisions held at the same competition (event). A horse held for re-inspection and subsequently not re-presented, is subject to the same condition.

SECTION B: BREEDS
PART TWO ARABIAN, HALF-ARABIAN, ANGLO-ARABIAN DIVISION

Under Chapter 13 Arabian Breed Standards and General Qualifications, B1304.7 General: Shoeing Restrictions Based on Age or Class in which Exhibited, The introduction of any foreign material, including heel springs, within, attached to, or between the pad(s), between the pad and shoe, between pad and hoof or in conjunction with the pad or shoe (other than accepted packing material such as oakum and pine tar, silicone, foam rubber, etc.) designed to add additional weight or enhance action is strictly prohibited.
